Exercise: Balancing Figure and Space

Draw on the techniques learned so far on this course to vary the balance in any one picture situation.  Aim to produce two images, using the same general viewpoint and composition, varying the balance of attention between the person and the setting they are in.  You can combine this exercise with any of the relevant earlier one if you prefer.

I’ve chosen to combine this exercise with one I did earlier inasmuch as I’ve used the same photo session to make the images needed.

This portrait of my granddaughter ‘Bella shows the difference in emphasis very well I think.  I was really pleased to be able to get her to pose for this pair of images as she usually puts on a very cheesy, child, grin these days, but this one….. well, it’s just magic.
